Flip BlackBerry Pearl 8220

Finally it is now official, RIM has submitted the new version of the BlackBerry Pearl, known as Flip 8220 and that becomes the first clamshell model of the Canadian multinational. The technical characteristics of 8220 are basically the same as the rest of Pearl models, with some difference in detail below.
The new form factor, very defendant in americas, supposed to have a SureType keyboard, two letters per key, bigger, because although the long terminal is the same, the width has been increased to 60 mm, 10 more in the Pearl Classic, which will improve at time of writing but of course also an increase in weight, about 20 grams more, reaching 111 total.
The other aspect that draws attention at first sight is that the Pearl 8220 equips the new version 4.6 operating system OS BlackBerry, but does so with the chipset from Marvell Bulverde 312 MHz, not 624 Mhz processor Tavor of the BlackBerry Bold.
Because as we said, technically it is the same original terminal, a cuatribanda EDGE, 3G, with WiFi but without GPS and with the same 2-megapixel camera with flash, zoom and video recording. What has been slightly improved is the internal display that achieves a resolution of 240 x 320, the 240 x 260 pixels of the original Pearl.
For its part, the external screen displays the usual text messages and incoming calls without opening the mobile, while the battery still has the same 900 mAh, which represents four hours of autonomy in conversation and fourteen days pending.

In terms of applications we can have access to ten email accounts, the true hallmark of BlackBerry and handle Word documents, Excel and PowerPoint, but not with Office, but the suite with Documents to Go by DataViz that comes preinstalled.
And in terms of media properties, has speaker and headphone jack 3.5 mm integrated equalizer 11 ways and the new BlackBerry software Media Sync, even able to synchronize with iTunes.
Nor missing Bluetooth and USB, both in its version 2.0, and support for microSD memory cards / SDHC up to 16GB, with the slit in the side of the terminal instead of low battery, which greatly facilitates the handling of the cards .
The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 will be on sale this fall, but have not yet materialised dates or price.
